There has been a bit of buzz on the internet about Portmans lately. Yes say what? A buzz about our staple work wear shop, Portmans, the chain store with a reputation for office slacks and neat white button up shirts. But alas, there has been a shift, an a magical exciting heave in a fashionable direction at that. The iconic Aussie chains store facelift for Spring/Summer 09-10 can be credited partly to new creative director Nicki Hillier and partly to giant advertising push. Portmans advertising has been coming out of my ears lately, but it worked! It forced me in to store to fall in love with the current collection.

In Portmans Spring/Summer 09-10 the heat has been turned up with bright colours, fun textures and party prints. The collection is an excellent mirror of the colour palette shown at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, they achieved this by sticking with soft neutrals (mushrooms, creams and taupe) and for a flirtier night time feel, splashes of bright colours (fushia, royal blue, purple).

The collection is also complemented by Camilla & Marc for Portmans collection at the front of most stores, a range I’m sure everyone has picked a piece up from by now! (above)

For the ladies like myself who love Portmans for work wear don’t worry it’s still available just the way you like it, but while your in there shopping for plain slacks, why not pick up an on trend blazer to add to the look.

My favourite look has to be this gorgeous sharp shouldered dress perfect for the races coming up! Add a coloured fascinator and your ready to go!

Whatever your looking for this season whether it be a wedding outfit, races dress, workwear or just a flirty outfit for dinner with your man, Portmans Spring/Summer looks like it will be able to accommodate you!
