Colour Conference 2011

This is a post completely un-fashion related by it’s something on my heart I want to share. As women in the world today we are encouraged to be independant and strong women, yes this is great, but sometimes it has a very lonely outlook if your doing it alone. As a single woman I know that having a career, living in the city and trying to have it all is impossible if I’m doing it alone. I need Jesus and I need other women in my life. Together we band together as a group of women who with Jesus and each other anything is possible! Who doesn’t want that.

In March every woman has the chance to come together for a conferencde known as Colour Conference hosted by Bobbie Housten and the Hillsong church team. Here is a snippet of an interview with Bobbie Housten about the Sisterhood movement and Colour Conference from the website www.colourconference.com/

TELL US HOW COLOUR STARTED?

Colour started 14 or so years ago, when I felt a directive in my heart to start a conference or a gathering that would gather women of all ages. A gathering that would bring women into an environment that actually believes in them. It is about believing in the potential of women. I think when you capture and mobilise the feminine heart – there is no end of amazing endeavor that women can accomplish and be involved in.

TELL US WHAT YOU REMEMBER ABOUT YOUR FIRST EVER COLOUR?

The first year of Colour was so awesome. We were just starting and we really didn’t know what it would look like! I was just following a prompting to do this. We hired a building down the road because we didn’t have our own venue then – and I invited my friend Holly Wagner to be our speaker. I had actually never heard Holly speak, I just liked her spirit… and we had 602 women turn up and become the foundation block of this conference that in so many ways represents a Movement of women around the earth.
