It’s cyclone season here in Queensland and I am currently braving Cyclone Oswald, and because he has torn a piece of my roof off and water is coming in anyway I decided, against my better judgment, to go for a walk to gawk at the carnage. However, braving a natural disaster should be done in style! This is my perfect outfit for a date with Mr. Oswald.
Puddles and slippery sidewalks are no match for you in a pair of Equestrian Night rain boots by Burberry $310
Build a base on a simple Sleeveless Mid Length Dress in black from Supre $20, the material is fairly heavy and slim fitting so it wont be blowing around and you can squeeze the rain out if it gets wet, not like pesky, overrated pants.
Even though the sun is well and truly hidden, cyclonic rain hurts eyeballs. Cover up with a pair of Campbell sunglasses by Tom Ford $490
Accessorise with a statement necklace. I love the Natural Regality Twisted Choker by Mimco $299. It’s manic eye catching beauty is very cyclone chic!
Add a pop of colour and stay dry with a Team Yellow rain coat $39.99 from Lowes.
Perhaps Cyclone Oswald will be so charmed by my outfit he will return my wheelie bin he so rudely threw across the highway…

I love how you styled to suit a cyclone – very creative! And of course as the weather was far too bad to go outdoors (we got it bad on the GC) it was something constructive to do while stuck indoors – love it! x
wasn’t it a crazy storm! i checked out your store by the way, great job! i love the black organza skirt, super cute! keep up the awesome work.
Hey this is a bad time from what I hear for cyclones, be safe
It’s awful! Lots of damage done to my house this year, I’m just glad my mimco umbrella didn’t break when it flipped inside out! Haha.
Cyclone season huh? Be very careful!
I truly like that outfit and I also love how you fit a disaster like the cyclone into your article. The photo is lovely and the downpour of rain is pretty. i love the necklace and shoes, they really make your dress stand out.
Thank you for your kind words, you’re a sweet heart. I’m especially proud I didn’t let my umbrella fly away, it took some serious arm muscles to keep a hold on that one, very close to a Mary Poppins moment.
My wife loves jewelry by Mimco. I always give her money to buy them because I don’t have the slightest clue as to what style to buy her. After reading a few of your articles, I believe that I am starting to get it and maybe her next birthday, I can actually buy her something that she will like.
What a wonderful husband you are! Mimco makes gorgeous jewellery that is super luxe and wont break the bank. I’m sure you will find the perfect birthday piece to make her swoon!
You are so pretty. I love the outfit and I am so glad that you let us know where we could get it from. I am saving up to purchase mine now.
Aren’t you a sweet talker! Happy to hear you liked it so much. I’m sure you will look absolutely stunning!
You look great and rather stylish in your yellow rain coat considering you are braving a storm. Good effort.
I felt stylish, right up until my umbrella turned inside out and broke, but now i have a new Mimco umbrella to brave next storm season with! I just love their range of umbrellas.
