Rihanna for Armani Jeans

I have to admit I’m not usually the biggest fan of Rihanna but in these shots for Armani Jeans and Emporio Armani Underwear SS12 campaign I fell in love with her.
The campaign was shot in Dublin by Mert & Marcus Piggott – the same talented pair of photographers who shot Kirsten Dunst for Bvlgari Fragrance which was a highly credited campaign of late 2011.

Rihanna has been hitting the commercial charts hard of late with partnerships with big name Dj’s like Calvin Harris. Will she come to Australia for Mardi Gras since she cancelled last year? It’d be exciting if she did in a ‘make good’ show. Anyway for now check out this beautiful campaign.

Celebrity Style: Whitney Port & Taylor Swift love Wildfox

Did we miss the memo? Why didn’t my girl Whitney Port give me a call? Apparently polished is out, comfy tee’s are in, not just any tee though: A Wildfox Couture tee. Every celeb and their BFF is rocking one of these all American knits and tee’s. Think hanging out in your door room the day after spring break, retelling tales of a misguided summer, the kind of tails you’ll reflect back on years to come. Celebrity Style: Leighton Meester

Finally Gossip Girl is back on USA tv after the Christmas break. Gossip Girl the CW drama which follows the lives of the elite socialites of the Upper East Side is a serious guilt pleasure of mine. The fashion, the jewels, the cars, the parties it’s all very lust worthy.If you aren’t a Gossip Girl addict yet, quickly grab the first season box set and absorb the unattainable.

Actress Leighton Meester plays the role of convincing queen Blair Waldorf on the hit TV drama. The character Blair has impeccable dress sense, but a very different style to Leighton in ‘real life’.  I find Leighton’s style more low key, think J Brand’s instead of Jimmy Choo’s. Leighton has been in the media alot more recently as she expands her career to include music and film, so there’s been even more chances to lust over her seriously cool wardrobe. Celebrity Style: Emma Watson

Since the 1.11.10 I have been a huge fan of the Harry Potter series. Don’t blink you did read that correctly, for the last two weeks I have been immersed in Harry Potter. I realize I’m about 10 years too late, but better late then never with the final installment about to be released. Although I snailed paced myself into the Harry Potter race, I did notice Emma Watson (Hermoine Granger) a while ago based on her new impeccable runway style. I say new as it has been a journey for Miss Granger to perfect the runway look, but it was worth the wait as she is now killing it red carpet style and hanging off the arm of new besties Karl Lagerford & Christopher Bailey.

Celebrity Style: Rachel Bilson

Ah this girl just oozes fashion perfection. Screw the fashion shows everyone was really watching Rachel Bilson in her perfectly constructed outfits. I love her in these two pictures hanging out at Milan Fashion Week in September. What is so great about these looks is that the jacket is from our very own Australian talent Willow. I’m also a huge fan of Rachel’s hair, I think I want to try the baliage look this summer. I’m not very experimental when it comes to my hair, so we’ll see. Anyway lets just lust over Rachel’s style!

Celebrity Style: Glee at the Emmy’s

It’s no secret that I am a huge Glee fan. So naturally I need to post what my favorite characters wore to the 2010 Primetime Emmys. My favorite dress is defiantly Jayma Mays in her custom made Burberry ruches sapphire dress, and close behind is Lea Michele (my absolute favorite actress of the moment) in Oscar de la Renta. Rock it Glee girls!

Celebrity Style Fixer: Julia Gillard

Dear Julia,

My name is Megan Aney, I am your candidate for the Gold Coast Style Party.  I am writing this letter to address a serious issue that has occurred under the Gillard government; your suits. I don’t mean the men in your party, they are doing a good job, I literally mean the suits hanging in your wardrobe in your home in Canberra. I hate to be the one to tell you but this issue is pressing, no more time can afford to be wasted.

I enjoy reading about you in the paper, I enjoy listening to you talk on the radio but if I ever have to watch you on television I get distracted by your plain jane suits.

I would like to lend you my services and help re-do your wardrobe Prime Minister. I do realise you may have other issues that may seem more urgent to attend to first such as climate change and the health care system so I’ll make this quick.

As the Prime Minister of Australia I it is appropriate to dress yourself in Australian labels. Luckily Miss Gillard we have a great selection of Australian talent in the design department. My friends Carla Zampatti, Bianca Spender, Lisa Ho, and Country Road would be happy to help you out.

I understand this letter is pointless unless I offer suggestions to change your position on this matter. So here are a few ways we can combat the suit change issue.

An investment in some Jackie O-esque pieces would not go to waste. I would love to see you rock some nice empire line dresses, an A-line skirt and maybe a trench or two during the colder months. Carla Zampatti does a beautiful suit with a high waisted pant. For evening her daughter Bianca would surely love to help you out.

I am available to meet with you regarding the situation stated. As you are the first female Prime Minister I’d be happy to give you a 30% discount on my usual consultation fees.

Celebrity Style: Nikki Reed – The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Premiere

We have hit the 6 day mark, well 5 day mark if you plan to camp out at midnight to catch the first screening. It needs no introduction but the third installment of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is set to hit our screens 1^st July and the premier is happening RIGHT NOW in Los Angeles. This means a lot of teenage girls or sadder older twi-obssesed females like myself are getting pretty anxious. 6 days until Taylor Lautner without a shirt one, 6 days until we can despise Bella Swan for her luck with men (well vampires and wolfs) and six days until we see the stars come out from the woodworks for the premieres all over the world. 

What are you waiting for at today’s LA premier? I’m mostly excited for the celebrity red carpet looks from the cast from the film. Will Kirsten Stewart be sporting her signature mullet? Who will wear couture? Will someone lend Taylor Lautner a shirt for the night?

I’m most looking forward to check out what Nikki Read pulls out of her wardrobe for the night. Nikki plays Rosalie Hale (Edwards sister) in the Twilight series. With such an important part in the movie Nikki ‘s fame has rose quickly but luckily so has her sense of style.

Nikki’s career began as a screenwriter for the semi-autobiographical movie Thirteen which she also acted in. From there she scored herself roles in The O.C, Lords of Dogtown and now is a household name thanks to Twilight. If you have watched Thirteen you know probably have a new found respect for Nikki based on the trials she faced, she was 14 years old when she left home. Not only has she built an impressive career for herself she has done it in style.

Nikki is pictured above in Marc Jacobs at Hollywood event and on the right pictured in head to toe Miu Miu at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. I love the different aesthetics of each look and how she pulls them off brilliantly. She never seems like she is trying to hard, but understand that fashion is an important part of her job as a public face.  Just spied pictures posted only moments ago from the Twiligh Premiere in LA of Nikki’s dress by Marchesa love it! Out of the box, the feather detailing is really special and the baby blue tone is a beautiful mix with her tanned skin.

Celebrity Style: Dianna Agron

Photos from JustJared.buzznetCan you see a pattern? I may be slightly obsessed with Glee, and when I say slightly I actually mean neurotic. Unfortunately as they are still filming the second half of the first series we have to wait until April 13 for another episode. In the meantime let me introduce you to another fashionable cast member. Dianna Agron plays Quin Fabray the manipulative cheerleader and celibacy club president who falls pregnant. In reality she is nothing like the deviant personality of her character. Dianna always comes off as sweet and approachable in interviews. She recently told Women’s Health Magazine that she was almost to nervous to walk into the Glee casting.

“I was nervous out of my mind,” recalls the 23-year-old. “I was sitting in the parking lot thinking, Are you going to do this or are you going to walk away?”

We are so glad she plucked up the courage because Dianna is an amazing actress who perfects her part on the Golden Globe & SAG award winning production.

Her fashion sense isn’t too shabby either. She is still quiet new to the industry, she has appeared in minor roles before Glee but nothing that has thrown her into the paparazzi lens as much. Dianna is going to have to get used to it as she is currently filming the new blockbuster The Romantics along with a star-studded cast.

Sifting through reviews of her outfit choices at two of the most important 2010 ceremonies the conclusion stands that Dianna got it right.  That being said we are more excited than ever to see what she wears to her next big event. Stay tuned!

Celebrity Style: Lea Michele

I have to admit, I am a self confessed musical freak. I love musical productions sometimes more then fashion (please keep that between us). Wicked, Cats, Rent you name it I have the soundtrack on my iPod. So naturally you can imagine my excitement when Glee starting airing in Australia. It’s now my go to soundtrack for spin class, driving to work and any other time I can crank up the volume. So this weeks Celebrity Style profile I wanted to proudly nominate my favourite Glee cast member Lea Michele who plays Rachel in the program. Lea may not be known inside for the fashion industry for her style as yet, but she deserves recognition for the impeccable choices she has made at award show appearances in 09/10.

The Stats on Lea Michele:

DOB: 29 August 1986 (she is 23)

Broadway Career: Lea started out as a child star on Broadway in productions of Les Miserables, The Little Girl and Rag Time. At age 20 she was cast as a lead in Broadway’s Spring Awakening a career defining moment that earned her a Drama Desk Award nomination.

Television Career: Glee was Lea’s first big break into television. She has been nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award, a Teen Choice Award and a Golden Globe Award for her performance as Rachel in the series, the star of the school’s show tune choir, Glee Club..  She has been cast as Dorothy Gale in Dorothy of Oz, which is currently filming.

Fashion Style: Glee only first aired in May 2009 so Lea

 is still quiet a beginner to the Hollywood treatment. This includes dressing for appearances and off duty paparazzi snaps. For someone with less then a year of practice I think she is doing an impeccable job. I think for a style rookie choosing an Oscar De La Renta dress for the Golden Globes was a infallible move and this move has given me faith in her fashion style for a while to come. (pictured right) More recently she was donned an eye catching Catherine Malandrino gown at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, so stunning! (pictured up left)
